On this twenty second day of May, twenty nine years ago, Pac-Man was first released to the public in Japan. Next year we’ll have a mega party for the big three-o!

I went mountain biking this morning as I do most mornings before work. I wanted to blog about the experience, but obviously can’t do it while biking. So I snapped a photo and uploaded it to Facebook (which apparently I can’t link to since you’d have to log in and probably be my friend, which [...]
My friend Tom Zazueta came over for lunch yesterday and showed me a cool app on iPhone called Analytics App (note: it costs $5.99.) The obvious question is of course: why doesn’t Google provide an app like this (or at least a mobile optimized web experience) but given that they haven’t done it, I think [...]
Just checked analytics, and noticed that there are people reading this blog from their Android and iPhone devices on a regular basis, how cool is that! I know that some blog reading apps (web and client), such as Google Reader, are very popular on high end mobile devices, but I still found this to be [...]
Today I got caught in an interesting discussion about what direction to take a product, and I started to think about what test one should apply to an idea for a product to figure out whether it’s heading in the right direction. In my mind, and based on my experience developing and launching products like [...]
I’m amazed that one of the most obvious, but least utilized opportunities of mobile applications is to integrate nicely with an “outlet” that exists elsewhere (usually on desktop web pages). So true.
And now my daughter just doesn’t understand why I’m not running to the store and buying her an iPod Touch… just because she asked me. Amazing. Now, “when I was young…” :)

Today I downloaded E-Trade Mobile Pro for iPhone, since I have an E-Trade account and am really excited about my tiny sunken portfolio. I wasn’t expecting a lot, but I have to say that I was pleasantly surprised. And not just because of the specific features it has to offer, but more so because it’s [...]
I probably said this about 5 or 6 years ago, but not anymore. I’ve been battling tonight to get an application installed on my Nokia E51. I love the form factor, probably the sleekest phone I’ve ever had (and I’ve had them all!) but boy do they screw up the user experience. After torturing myself [...]
I went to the beach today, it wasn’t the warmest day of the spring, but it was nice and cloudy, and our dog got to run around. As we were driving into Carmel, my wife asked me how warm (or rather cold) it was outside, and I fumbled with the dashboard of the car to [...]
